Re: QQ(kind of strange line)
why does everybody think a "somewhat" laggy player is going to reraise us twice if we bet into him? This guy isn't a maniac...

Re: QQ(kind of strange line)

Betting into this villian twice is going to slow him down. We collect more bets if we check/raise. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I would have checkraised the turn and capped a 3-bet from villian. If he bets into us on the river I call. [/ QUOTE ] a few things don't make sense here. edit: and i think he'll raise because he raised the flop. our turn bet is out of nowhere. i expect him to raise AT and JJ. |

If he caps this turn do you bet the river?

Re: QQ(kind of strange line)
Hehe, I guess I'm retarded and think that positions switch on each street in Hold Em. Maybe I should get some sleep
But isn't c/r here more often than not going to collect more bets than betting out? I just can't see this guy raising us again after being bet into... I think we can be 100% sure that he bets if we check, but can we be as sure of him raising if we bet out? |

[/ QUOTE ] FMP [/ QUOTE ] You're still suggesting that Villain will 3-bet a c/r with a worse hand but won't raise a turn donk with one. This is usually not going to be the case. However strange the lead is, a c/r is still a much stronger play on our part. |

Re: QQ(kind of strange line)
[ QUOTE ]
Exactly my thinking. Maybe I should continue to play it the same when the board is this drawless. He got to think Im on overcards with my passive line. [/ QUOTE ] You're not going to go far wrong either way. But I like taking things deep into the hand when possible for metagame reasons. If Villain is very aggressive, the line Miles suggested is great. Short handed especially, since players tend to overplay more often. |

In case nobody read it. He 3-bet the river. Is this an easy laydown? [/ QUOTE ] I call. He might see your c/r as a bluff with overs, and I don't think we can plan a c/r on the turn or river if we're not prepared to put in 3 bets on an expensive street and still show down our overpair. |

Re: QQ(kind of strange line)
Against a LAG HU I take the following lines.
1. I bet\3bet if I improve on the turn. 2. I check raise the turn if the board gives a draw. 3. I bet\3bet if the turn is a blank. 4. Call down if the turn brings an overcard. This case, is number 3. |
