I like a cap. Even tight players will occasionally 3-bet AA in this situation so I don't think you can completely write that off. Even if we're behind 90 % of the time here, a fold is awful, and we need to be charging the draws the maximum amount of money to continue playing, as it doesn't look like either one has the straight. A cap here is perfect because it will often induce AMA to check to you on the river, and you have no risk of getting raised again.
I wrote this before I read your response, by the way - I see that indeed, this exact result played out. The fact that the other fellow called down with Q4 is the exact reason you should be capping here. |
