The OP obviously feels like a chump, which anyone would in the same circumstances. I once stopped being friends with a guy because he refused to honour a $20 Super Bowl bet. The $20 was meaningless to me, what pissed me off was the feeling that he had so little respect for me that he didn't feel the need to pay me what was owed.

You guys are not friends. I would not have bluffed about the small claims court--you look like a total wuss when you don't follow through. $90 is squat in the long run. Move on and don't give this twat a second thought.

I'm guessing a lot of us have had similar things happen. For me, it wasn't just the money, it was the fact that someone I'd trusted betrayed me. They essentially told me what I thought was a close relationship didn't mean squat to them. That I wasn't worth their consideration. They were willing to simply, and selfishly, toss everything aside.
I say good riddance. Better you learned now than some time when the cost, $ or otherwise, could be considerably higher.
