Interesting. Could you draw this conclusion so quickly b/c of past history with superpokemon? Or was it just more an absence of bad play? I mean, I can identify players who look like no fun to play against...but I wouldn't really be sure they weren't just catching cards. Thx for any thoughts you have time for. [/ QUOTE ] There are a few major tendencies I look for when deciding who is a favorite in a heads up match. This is not normally something I share, but as I rarely play HU for significant money(and don't really like it anymore) I don't mind. When one player is consistently putting in multiple bets on the later streets and not seeing a showdown, it is obvious that they have not fully adjusted how to play back at the villain. If you have even the summary box log, you will see tons of hands where cantseeu wins 9+ bb pots without showing down. The trick to heads up is not building up huge pots that you have to fold when you don't improve. The best players build big pots and cause their opponents to make huge mistakes by folding with more than enough outs or even folding while ahead. superpokerman was getting sick of cant's aggressiveness, and would play back at him light only to get played right back at and have to fold. Then cant was the only one picking up the pots that missed both of them. Then superpokerman turned up the aggro a little and cant just started calling him down and picking off his bluffs. He was always two steps ahead of his opponent here. I didn't watch for THAT long, but for what I did I was pretty impressed. -James |

i totally agree w/ the tendencies you find to determine a good hu player... but i can't think you can determine that from watching for an hour.. sometimes one guy is running really well/very confident while the other guy is having a bad run of sorts.. i think hu is primarily about value betting veeeeeeeery marginal hands and, more than anything else, avoiding tilt
