This is the 2nd time this week that people I respect have said they really like this band.

I've only heard like one song, but my impression was that they were that "The" band that wasn't as awesome as The White Stripes.

I'm going to have to investigate this.

The Strokes > ... > The White Stripes

where there are a few bands that fit in there well.

[/ QUOTE ]
You are so wrong about this.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't get me wrong, I love The White Stripes, but The Strokes are simply brilliant to me.

i like the white stripes too, but i don't really put them in the same ballpark as the strokes. they're definitely 2 notches above.

i'd surprisingly give them 'best concert ever' after seeing their last show in st louis. i wasn't expecting much and had heard bad things about drunken apathy onstage. i had also seen mr bungle and fugazi at a small club in a missouri college town (separate nights) and both of those were awesome shows.

Strokes or Stripes concert? I was at the last Stripes concert in STL and it was the best I've ever been to.

It doesn't bother you that so many of the Strokes' songs are so similar?

I don't think they are very versatile.
