Re: band name
[ QUOTE ]
The Doors? [/ QUOTE ] Doors come in nice under "D". Who or Band without "The" in front do nt make sense to me. Already have "misc" and "various" and "artist" that I always try to retag in music library . ~ Rick |

Re: band name
The problem stems from their official name is just "Pixies", but it is a prural and therefore begs for a preceding "the" in many situations. However, it is technically singular (e.g. "a band"), so whilst the sentance "I am going to see Pixies tonight" is gramatically correct, it sounds wrong. Therefore, I think it is better to say "the Pixies". Furthermore, it should not be capatalised, as it as a vanilla "the", rather than a name "The" (as in "The Fall").

Re: band name
Facinating.
It should be "Pixies" all the time...bugger readability. I'm going to see Pixies tonight (not at a gay bar tho'...) I love Pixies (Also NAAGB!) Do you like Pixies' new album? Etc... Think: Rammstein, Led Zepplin, Les Thugs, Los Straightjackets, the Bad Brains, AndAnd!And, !!!, & So On. |
