I'm from CA and I call them grinders but that is b/c I grew up near the best sandwhich place around called D'elia's Grinders. Otherwise it is a sub to me.

Philly, and it's called a hoagie. SOMETIMES maybe a sub, but 94% of the time a hoagie.
