Pooh mentioned this in a similar hand I had posted yesterday, and I liked it, although in my hand the bb had less than one additional BB.

HOWEVER, if you're true intention is only to make sure shortie doesn't get a free walk, call. you'll still have 9 BB if sb goes over the top and BB folds.

If BB goes over the top and BB calls, then you got your wish too.

And as you said, you're not afraid of getting all-in w/shortie if sb folds and BB goes all in what's the problem?
