zeebo, would you value bet the Tc there?

[/ QUOTE ]

If I was Villain I would nearly always bet the Tc.

why though? What possibly could call that's worse? Would a big pair w/o a club really call a bet here? bleh...

like, if you have the Tc, the 9 and 8 are accounted for, I'd have to raise pf with a low club AND check call for it. also, board is paired, i could be checking a bigger club or a full boat w/ the intention of checkraising.

i just dont see the window

He probably won't call any bet, but will bet a worse hand

Would anything other than A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] bet here? Wouldn't something like J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] have showdown value and just check behind, but possible call a bet?

I'm a great believer that the most important skill after you move beyond 5/10 is aggressive value betting. If Hero checks this river, 9 times out of 10 he has basically admitted he has nothing. He knows you know this.

By betting I probably don't have to show my hand, plus I may get a call from weaker clubs and some strong non-club hands.

Obviously it depends on the opponent, as I'd have been wrong in this instance.
