It's so much easier to rig live action. I would be highly skeptical if I saw that hand play out.

if your roommate is abby, i think capping the river was a mistake as i think four aces is a dog at that point. really.

My initial thought was that this can't be right, but after consideration makes sense. What could villian have on the river? Really two choices only, quad K or the royal; other hands that were a possibility on the turn (JJ, KJ and perhaps Qhxh or maybe even QhTx depending on the preflop action) became much, much weaker on the river. Though there's one possbility each for KK and QhTh, the preflop action argues against KK so the royal must be given serious consideration. It'd sure be hard not to cap quad aces, though!

I won a table share of the Party BBJ with a hand much like this, except it was KKKK vs a royal. The Kh came on the river, completing both hands.

It's more likely his opponent left the room and the dog is chewing on his mouse.

Best I ever saw was at the table next to me back in my small stakes days. Bad beat was at $70,000 because it was quads beaten, not easily hit.

Winner of the hand had top end of the straight flush, 1st runner up had bottom end of the straight flush and 2nd runner up had quads. 2nd place got 40% = $28,000, 1st place got 30% = $21,000 and quads guy only got the table share: the remaining 30% divided by the other 8 players at the table = $2625.
