Re: 20/40 Winning Play??
I consider two lines also (C/R and lead turn or the actual one) in order to get him to fold. I almost always go for the C/R and lead turn line. The only real advantage i find to your line is that RARELY (if ever) u r gonna get played back at. I know cause whenever i see the someone playing that way to my blind steal attempt i am too scared usually The thing is that almost never someone is gonna make a move on me with the C/R - lead turn line also..

Re: 20/40 Winning Play??
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] i believe this play is a winner. there's a large chance he has a hand he simply can't call with. i think this definitely works 1 time in 5, and it's not like there's anything wrong with getting raised. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, but i think this is kind of silly. It only has to work 1 in 5 times because he inflated the pot by check calling with 9 high no draw. That said, i definitly do this from time to time, so it's fine, just dont do it so often they get tempted to pick you off. [/ QUOTE ] This was my thought exactly. The flop call is so Hero can donk bet pretty much any turn card. So he is betting 3SBs to win 7 Sbs and needs this to work more than 30% of the time. |

Re: 20/40 Winning Play??
[ QUOTE ]
If I have an ace in this case or bluffin I'm always c/r flop and leading turn, your lines looks little confusing and you might get looked up more. [/ QUOTE ] With a strong Ace, I would probably checkraise here, but in spot like this when I have a weak Ace with 3 or more players in the pot I usually try to narrow the field. In this case that would mean leading into the preflop raiser expecting him to often raise and drive out the other opponent. If I were the small blind against a button raiser then I would checkraise to face the other opponent with two cold. The checkraise the flop plan here gets awfully uncomfortable I think when the button autobets and then the small blind calls. It is also quite costly when the button does have a good Ace because he will so often 3-bet if sb is in the pot or just call the flop checkraise then raise the turn if sb is not involved. Do the rest of you guys typically checkraise this flop with any Ace? Thanks, Cartman |
