ESPN made sure we saw that, and lots of it. I think the majority of poker players, in a situation where they stand to win tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands or a million+ would lose a bit of self-control and go nutzo on television. Most of them see a player like him doing that, and picture themselves in the same situation.

[/ QUOTE ]Picture themselves doing the same thing? Or, picture how they would react in the same situation? Two very different things, I think.

LOL. Todd Brunson is about the last person I could picture hocking a clothing line

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure? Don't you remember the movie with Rodney Dangerfield(think it was Easy Money) where the Rodney character had his own clothing line? I think they called it "Regular Guy" clothing.

If I were going to make my dream table out of the Poker Superstars 2 line-up as to which guys I most enjoy watching, Todd would make said line-up as maybe he isn't entertaining in an obvious way, but he makes comments from time to time that do make good TV.

I'm not looking for someone who's phoney at all. I admire that he doesn't feel the need to run around screaming his head off, jump all over the table and act the fool.

But, he just hasn't been very entertaining to watch play poker (although I may have missed what little entertaining bits have been seen by others).

In the end, I think, sponsors will be looking for a marketable personality. A player doesn't even have to be all that good, as long as people enjoy watching them do their thing. Sponsors want their horses to get as much TV time as possible. TV time is given more to those with antics that keep poker interesting to watch.

This doesn't mean that Todd isn't funny, witty, etc. But on TV he comes off as too quiet and depressing to watch.

Now I just need to figure out what type of costume I'll wear when I make a final table 27 years from now. I was thinking of going with a ski mask and ski goggles, and I'd use a mini-magic 8-ball as my card protector.

Once my opponent tried to outplay me, I'd pickup my 8-ball and say "did you make your flush?" *shakes 8-ball and looks at bottom* "My sources say No!" and then I'd shove my chips in and wow everyone with my masterful display of 8-ball prowess!

And Ray Zee replied to one of my threads! I think I'm going to have to sell this on Ebay, it's almost as good as a Greg Raymer reply. I'll have to jack up the shipping costs to make a profit though, damn Ebay and Paypal fees, it's worse than beating the rake!
