just wondering, if hero had AJ, does he call. [/ QUOTE ] At the time I wasn't calling with anything worse than 44. In any other game I wouldn't even be asking this question, it is a no-brainer fold. But the party 10/20 seems to have an interesting dynmaic where a lot of these ridiculous bets turn out to be bluffs. It's certainly not a vast majority of the time, but I've seen different people in similar situations turn over two random cards when called enough that I have taken notice. Has anyone else seen this in that game? Now say you have seen it fairly often, but not often enough to make this a clear call, just enough to make it almost EV neutral. Is letting people know you're willing to make these marginal calls when you think there is a chance they're getting cute worth it? It might prevent such tough decisions in the future (especially since a lot of the players in that game are very aggressive regulars). |

The villain in this hand seem fairly TAG and decent [/ QUOTE ] Taking this into account, and that is was a limped pot, I would put villain on 44 85+% of the time. He knows you have a jack but what kicker? You could reasonaly have anything form J9 - AJ. He is probably scared that if he lets you see more cards and you hit your kicker, he is in a very difficult spot with the underfull. The only way to be sure is to move it in now when he knows he has the best hand. I'm not saying that I advocate this play in his spot but I believe this is why he made this play. |

KJs is a hand were I don't really have a default plan preflop [/ QUOTE ] In general you really shouldnt have any default plans in NL poker except maybe to fold certain hands from certain positions.... Sometimes I wonder if I even have those plans... |
