Re: Dr. Phil today
[ QUOTE ]
Dude when someone drives a car by me, he damages my health. The internal combustion engine should be banned in every public place. Every. All over the world. You can't compare vehicles and playing poker, and it's not close. You made a valid point with that little negative stories tough. [/ QUOTE ] Get over it dude. There are so many things people do that damage others health, why hate on smokers. |

Re: Dr. Phil Sucks!
[ QUOTE ]
I'm serious. He admitted that he was a losing player in the beginning but she was unwilling to understand. The guy has what it takes to make it. Educational background, willingness to learn and take risks. He is clearly intelligent. But he has to be given the time to grow. This requires a patient and understanding wife which she isn't. [/ QUOTE ] Puke. If he doesn't keep records, and plays stakes at which he is clearly a loser, he isn't going to make it. He is gambling and he's in denial. Want to learn the game? How about keeping good records and showing a profit at 1/2 before playing 15/30? Give me a break. |

[/ QUOTE ] The guy was a losing player, and dreamed of being a pro. I may dream of being a rockstar, but I'm not quitting my day job. The guy had a wife with MS, two kids, a mortgage, had gone through 100K in savings, amassed 50K in credit card debt and had recently turned down a job. He needs to get a real job, and consider poker as a hobby (at least until he learns how to play). I thought Dr. Phil was pretty cool about the whole thing (never thought I'd say that). He didn't really bash poker (except at the very end) and just told the guy he needed to get a job and keep poker on the side at least for now. |

Wow, that guy's wife is a total bitch. Not since Matt Damon split up with Gretchen Mol in Rounders has a poker player needed to break up with his woman so badly. [/ QUOTE ] You neglected my situation. |
