Well, if we call then a card like a 3 or a Q comes on the turn, are we raising the CO's turn bet? And folding to a 3-bet?

I don't know if Evan plans on posting it, but he made a good argument for check-calling the flop and I agree that line is best.

I'm lazy....

Evan: in your 88 hand
Evan: what's your feeling about c/c the flop?
shant: whats the plan after that?
Evan: if the same card comes off on the turn i'd probably c/r
shant: i guess after the capper checks and that guy bets i should tread lightly
Evan: yea, its a weird hand
Evan: and a shitty one to have to play oop
Evan: and i dont think a flop c/r does a whole lot for you
Evan: other than make the pot unmanagably large
shant: yeah especially since the pot is huge
shant: yeah
Evan: i know it seem like the right place to use it to "protect your hand"
Evan: but realistically i dont think it does
shant: yeah right after i did it i remembered the guuy behind me is the coldcaller
Evan: that's not the kind of flop where you're going to be able to protect 8s
shant: and the pot is huge
Evan: the other thing
Evan: about protecting your hand
Evan: is that based ont he PF action its not even all that likely you have anything worth protecting
Evan: you have a 2 outter here pretty often imo
shant: true
shant: yeah wow i shouldve thought about all of that
shant: seems like an obvious call now
Evan: eh, i miss that kinda stuff a lot when im in the middle of a hand
Evan: you just see $500 in the middle and want to win it as fast as possible
shant: hahaha
shant: yeah and go into autopilot
Evan: yea
Evan: anyway, that's my .02

Personally I think there's something to be said for donk-betting the turn if you feel confident you can fold to a turn raise. (That is, after we have check-called the flop).

Check-raising the turn seems to be getting way too deep into this hand. A check-through also sucks when we're ahead.

Even in this pot though the check/raise makes it tough for AK or AJs to call on a QQ2 rainbow flop since they aren't closing the action. But, if he does just peel on the flop (which I don't really disagree with) are you leading this turn?

This turn looks like a pretty easy check/fold.

Ahhhh, missed that. Given the circumstances I think CO will bet again so I agree.

Preflop - coolio.

Flop check-call, fold to any great aggression.

Turn - BET. I prefer this line over the checkraise, but its not such a horrible choice.

this is definate fold pre-flop, remember small pocket pairs are basically two outers plus straight draw opps. Maybe if it was heads up u improve on the turn but just not worth the call in the first place, u kinda get sucked in but i dont like it
