[ QUOTE ]
Others have elaborated but I think it is probably important to drive home one point that really helped me in converting to SH play from a full ring. This game really is showdown poker in that people do much crazier and unpredictable things than then do in full ring. When given a choice between lines, I am taking the one that gets me to showdown. A free showdown raise by the villian with AK here would not be beyond the realm of possiblity in addition to pairs you beat.

And to take it further... quoting Clarkmeister "when your plan involves folding a overpair headsup in needs changing"

TAG's will often cap a steal attempt with a middle pocket pair when 3-bet by a blind that they know will 3-bet them defending with big unpaired broadways. So I don't think 88 or 77 is out of his range of hands. But neither is 66 and his turn raise could be him picking up 8 more outs with an OESD.

I thought I'd bump this up after a hand I just played that was somewhat similar.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB folds.

Turn: (4 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero thinks forever... and calls remembering this post.

River: (8 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10 BB

Results:
SB has Tc Ts (two pair, tens and nines).
Hero has Jh Jd (two pair, jacks and nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 10 BB.

Thanks 2+2!
