Default Re: Pokertracker on Party

(This is a virgin post from a long-time lurker).

I've only been playing online for a few months, but played neighborhood poker for about 15 years. Regardless of which forum, I've never understood the need to respond to smack talk.

I play Party Poker, and often disable reading any player chat, simply because it is either (1) inane, or (2) lies. But when I do enable it, I'm frequently surprised by the intensity of people's arguments and their need to vindicate themselves.

That's a long-winded introduction to my main point - whatever happened to the concept that actions speak louder than words? If challenged, who cares? Just shrug it off, and hope to beat the guy on the long run, but, as other posters have said, do NOT reveal any advantages you have, including PT.

Revealing any advantage would both alert the fishes to their weaknesses, and advise the table to beware of you, who has a software advantage. It's akin to the Allies in WWII retorting to Nazi taunting with "Oh yeah? But we broke your code."

Cheers, Carl

Seriously someone should come up with an instruction guide on how to respond in situations like this for all 2+2ers

It's really simple. Never say anything in response to this type of remark.

Thanks one and all to the lovely welcome to 2+2.
I understand that I was in the wrong now, but seriously some of the replies from long time users I wuld consider less than warming.
I'll think twice about posting in the future.
