Default Re: About EmigrantDirect savings account (stick with ING)

So we've got this:

1. EmigrantDirect 3.50% APR
2. ING Direct 3.15% APR
3. HSBC 3.50% APR
4. CapitalOne 3.45% APR

All are FDIC insured.

While I was initially skeptical of the non-ING banks, I'm now leaning towards the one with the best interest.

Any suggestions among the four above (ING is probably out of the question now due to its rate)?

You could try CapitalOne as well. I have an account there, and it has worked out nicely thus far. They have the same postal confirmation thing though.

Dunno about Emmigrand and HSBC but I just took 5 minutes to check out CapitalOne and when you compare ING and CapitalOne you're not exactly comparing oranges to oranges. The CapitalOne account is a money market account, so it has a few more restrictions than a straight savings account.

In addition, I wonder if the CapitalOne (and the others) rates take into account the newest hike in the prime rate. It looks like ING hasn't updated their rates yet.

I've done both, started at ING and moved to Emigrante for the better rate.

I reccomend emigrante.

Dunno if this has been mentioned, but ING direct is 3.3% for me.

ING has moved up to 3.3% and seems to be the most popular, but is consistently below emigrant, capitalone, and hsbc (maybe due to lots of advertising costs or not needing to charge more and still getting lots of customers?)

i just noticed that hsbc is now at 3.75%, so i'll be moving over there as they seem to consistently be the highest and are very reputable

Wachovia now offers a 3.50% APY Money Market Account to select accounts. If you already have an account with Wachovia this is also an excellent option.

B&M banks are starting to fight back-about time..

Don't Money Market Accounts have restrictions that Savings Accounts don't?
