I agree that checkraising is best here. One thing that we can't forget is that button is coming along too. For a checkraise to be profitable, you only have to be good here 33% of the time. Variance God already established that we are good about 66% of the time, with which I agree. In addition, checkraising gets more bets in than bet-calling (since you will only get raised when you are behind).
Also, if you are going to bet-call, you're better off check-calling. The OP said that the bettor was going to bet this river 99% of the time, and betting only opens you up to being raised. Check-calling gets the same amount in when you are ahead and less in when you are behind. |

But if we lead and he raises, it sucks just as much, and two bad side effects: possibly folding out button, and putting fewer bets into the pot while we think we are ahead. |
