Re: I got laughed at today....
[ QUOTE ]
the turn 3bet is questionable, but when SB doesn't cap he obviously doesn't have 2pair or a set. [/ QUOTE ] I really don't think this is as obvious as you state. Just because you would cap with 2 pair doesn't mean that other players would do the same. Also, its not that uncommon for people to limp AK. A lot of players freeze up to a turn 3 bet, because they picture getting repopped and losing 2 extra bets. This is part of what makes this turn play so solid. If hero gets capped here, he can ~97% confidently fold to a river bet unimproved. |

Re: I got laughed at today....
You have a very good point. Getting capped here sucks, because we can't fold.
But we have to assign some value to the following possibilities: 1. Villain will check-call a spade river 2. Villain will not cap without a set 3. Hero's hand is good I'm not sure how much value these possibilities have here. My guess is not much. I think your line is best here. |

Re: I got laughed at today....
What a dildo of a player. You had a flush draw and top pair, what are you gonna do? Not bet? Yea right.

Re: I got laughed at today....
I think that checking behind on the river is weak, especially since the river card just counterfeited his possible two-pair of KT/K7s/T7s.

Re: I got laughed at today....
The turn 3-bet was great.
The fact that you didn't reply to those dimwits was great. The fact that the small blind played the hand abysmally badly was great. The fact that you think it's too bad a suspected jerk is actually one is great. Getting laughed at by those clowns is an honor. You're a good man. |

[/ QUOTE ] KT & K7 still beat me as the second pair would be higher than my 2's... Opponent also showed strength by raising the turn to protect his hand, a bet on the river is only called by a hand that beats me. |
