This is so wrong that I wonder if the poster has actually been to Foxwoods.

He has, I've played with him. How often, I can't say.

Just so we get the timeline right, Travel Channel started broadcasting the WPT on March 30th, 2003 and Mohegan Sun closed the poker room on September 2nd, 2003.

Jeff, you do know that New England gets everything on TV 6 months later than the rest of the country don't you?

I'm at FW 2 to 3 times a month, sometimes during the week sometimes on the weekends. I'll clarify my "dead" definition - during the daytime, during the week, FW is running (I'm guessing) between 40-50% of total capacity (80+ tables). So FW and the entire New England region can't fill these tables during the week. LA fills 40+ tables during the week, so does Vegas and I assume AC as well. So why would the Mohegan casino manager want to open up another (smaller) room and split the market? They obviously think they are space constrained and don't have the room for lower $$/square ft returns. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for MS to open its room again, the hotel blows away FW and it would save me 15 minutes drive time.

seems like you have been not responding to me this whole thread. earlier in it i pointed out how you were dead wrong about the 2 poker room situation. how was i to know you were joking with this statement? as far as i know, some parts of CT did get the travel channel considerably later than anyone else (ask granny).

A casino in Bridgeport or Danbury would be a dream, but the tribes and politicians behind Fwoods & the Sun would never let their NYC pipeline take such a hit.

I'm with you on the wishful thinking...

I was playing at Foxwoods two weeks ago and the room was buzzing with rumors that Mohegan will open up a room in September.

They were saying that some of the old dealers were being called in for meetings and that the two year moratorium was almost up.

I emailed them and they replied that they have no plans to open a room in the near future.

Too Bad.

I drive past Mohegan to get to Foxwoods every time I go. I happen to like Foxwoods and think they do a very good job, but would love to get in an extra 30 minutes of play per session.

I heard the same thing. The management did a horrible job and the problems were so numerous that they couldn't fix them without closing the room.

I was there on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and they had four tables of 20-40 hold'em going (two must moves). I doubt there are many rooms in the country that can support that level of play.

When is the last time you were at Foxwoods on a weekday????
