How many Final Tables did you make before your first win?

My first 3 final tables all in one night at partypoker (I was a lucksack):

8th in a smaller 50 dollar tourney: $180
5th in a big 10 dollar tourney: $220
1st in a 30+3 rebuy tourney: $580

When I played on my friends' pokerroom accounts I think it took me three tries before I won a $5 NLH MTT. A few months later I took 2nd in a $5 NLH and 3rd in a $10 PLO/8 that were running concurrently.

Since I started up on my own, in April, at UB, I've probably had about 10 final tables and no first places. (Exceptions- I have entered a couple MTT satellites, for TECs and entries to the $120k and Aruba qualifiers and the like, and won the top prize that the top X players get.)

I think I have two 3rds, two 4ths, a 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th, disregarding those other tournaments.

So in other words I'm still looking for that first one.

Oddly enough, I won the first final table I made. It was a $20+2 on Party with about 1800 entries, about 1 year ago.

I have yet to win a big tournament. I have won many SNG's of course but in every tourney with more than 1 table I have yet to win, doesn't matter if it's 2 or 3 table SNG's, or what. I cash but never win.

The closest was in a live tourney of 80 people, I came in 2nd (this was literally a month after I started playing hold em, I thought I was hot sh1t).

I have made final tables in these live tournies (freeroll for fun/prizes/house cash, so the play is average to terrible) very often. In fact about 7 of the last 11-12 times I've final tabled but never won.

Online I'm a limit player but have played in a few tournies and of course in some big freeroll tournies. I managed a 4th in a tourney of 380'ish people for a whopping $85.

In other words, I'm not a closer, it's tragic.... sad, considering that's where the most money is made (2nd to 1st).

Thats why I decided play 500 sngs and take some time off MTTs, hopefully it will help with my end game.

When he said "Borgata" he meant "Binions" and he was talking about the WSOP.

I had 6 final tables, 3 in NLHE, 1 in Stud/8, 1 in Limit Omaha and 1 in PLO before I won my first MTT ($31 NLHE KOTZ)

For those still wondering why they haven't won their first MTT , don't worry. Variance is a bitch that way, but just keep improving your game and eventually you will get paid off nicely.

I think my 3rd FT I won a 70 man NL tourney on Party. But that was after A LOT of tournies. 3 weeks later I took down 1st of 2500 for a cool 100k [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]. I really need to emphasize that I played A LOT of tournies before even making my first FT -> and that was a 70 man too.

My 1st and only win was my first final table in the bodog 10k guaranteed. $2500 win for $8 entry. The tourney has been downgraded to a $7500 and stil gets 600 people.
