Re: What would YOU do on this river?
yeah possibly, but a c/r here says flush, straight, 2 pair too much for top pair to be good IMO- read dependent of course

Re: What would YOU do on this river?
I'm grunching..
I'm really split between raising and calling. Definitely not a fold situation without a read on BB. The main reason for raising would be that it would be hard to believe someone was just chasing the backdoor flush draw from the flop, unless they had some other piece of the board (Ax [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I suppose is realistic). Then again BB could be donk betting with A-rag, not believing that you yourself have an ace, or just bluffing at having the flush, or made a two-pair, etc.. So after my talking out loud post, I think I would resolve myself to calling and take notes on BB's play here. |

Grunching, I call, he may have hit it, but he may be bluffing. I think you have to call here.
Now to read the other responses. |

Re: What would YOU do on this river?
Grunching: I just call down the river bet, as it completes both a backdoor flush and many gutshot straights. I think the gutshot straight is more likely as it's less likely to chase a backdoor flush on that flop. I also think gutshot vs open-ended on the flop since it's a check/call instead of a raise.
I could also see BB trying to steal this pot from you with a weaker hand as since you've been doing the betting, with a made straight/flush/Aces up he'd be in perfect shape for a c/r. So I could see villian on any worse single A, a mid PP (not 9 or 7 since no raise until river), and two mid cards giving a gutshot from the flop like 8-5. |
