with 5K and the blinds of 700-1400 and KK, the only answer is to push.

MOST (nearly all of the time) I agree with you. But against a super aggro not paying too close attention BB I might limp and hope he raises with any two just because he's overly LAG and donkish. Or maybe the SB will complete and BB checks and one of them bets the flop by default and I get more chips in the middle.

Honestly I don't think it matters how you play it. Nobody is going to give you credit for a real hand utg with your stack size. So just push and hope you double up.

Are you waiting for aces? Push it.

When I have KK and I'm shortstacked, I usually just push! I even do it with AA. The reason therefore is that I usually play pretty aggressive and try to steal a lot, so a raise by me can mean many things. When I push AA as shortstack, I even got called once by as low as A4.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agree, especially in a low buyin event with weak players. When my stack gets to this size, it means I've already been pushing and raising like a maniac (from their viewpoint). So, anything other than a push looks really transparent.

Fold pre-flop...

Umm, you could limp and hope to bring some people along maybe get some dead money in the pot if you're feeling frisky/wouldn't mind getting drawn out on or you could just push and be pissed when the BB calls with A5o and spikes his ace.

I don't see many extra chips coming into the pot with this strategy, Durron. Push is just as likely to get called, IMO.

The BB is calling with A5 no matter what we do with our 3BB stack.

With KK and this few chips, you want to get called by as many people as possible before the flop for as much as you can. You may lose, but extracting value at this point is your only choice. Do whatever complements your style.

Pushing is the most likeliest of choice with this FEW chips.

[/ QUOTE ]

NO actually you DONT DONT DONT want alot of people calling!!!!!

You want 1... and MAYBE 2....

YOu want all your "drawing hands" OUT OF THE WAY. Unfortunately, this means only hands like Ax and pocket pairs (if there are any) will call you...

But with a stack that small, it doesn't really matter.
You have no leverage.

Where did you learn that with pocket pairs you want a lot of people in the pot?!!??!?!

I'll be fine with the double-up... I don't know why there will be an exception that you want a lot of ppl in the pot...

am i right?
