so you would say if he wins 2 in a row........ that is better than helmuths 9? (is that right?) or doyle's 11?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I'm really impressed with Doyle beating out like 14 people in the 1979 mixed doubles event.

I'm sure someone helped hershiser get at least a couple of those outs. Team accomplishment. Bad example.

I don't think Raymer winning 3 straight (or maybe 4) could compare with the accomplishment that was Danny Nguyen winning the WPT Reno event.

If Harrington wins or make the final table that would be the greatest accomplishment ever.

res, easily, easily, the greatest accomplishment.

it would not make him the greatest player and he would not have the greatest career however.

Alright Raymer, kick some ass man!

If he gets tables with amateurs, I think he can bully his way to a huge stack, cause people won't mess with him. But if he finds himself up against a couple pros, I don't think he's gonna get away with the bullying thing.

Roger Maris has one of the greatest accomplishments in baseball history (his 61 home runs in 1961). But, he isn't even in the baseball Hall of Fame.

[/ QUOTE ]
While Roger Maris did have the single season home run record for quite a while, his overall stats were not that impressive. He wasn't even a career .300 hitter if I recall correctly, and his # of hits, and total number of home runs wasn't overly impressive.

Granted, there are a TON...and I mean a TON of people in the Hall of Fame right now that shouldn't be. Our local radio station had a "Baseball Hall of Fame Rejection Committee". Every day they eliminated a player until they got down to the final player. It was done mostly in good fun. For the first several weeks I was constantly saying "who?."
