Re: Would you be mad at this guy?

[ QUOTE ] I don't need to be accused of slow-rolling a winner when he hesitates to show his cards. [/ QUOTE ] What is the rule or etiquite about slow rolling a winner? [/ QUOTE ] Show in turn, starting with whoever generated the last action - period - no exceptions. |

[ QUOTE ] I don't need to be accused of slow-rolling a winner when he hesitates to show his cards. [/ QUOTE ] What is the rule or etiquite about slow rolling a winner? [/ QUOTE ] To my knowledge, there is no rule, and its just a matter of etiquette. Slowly revealing a winning hand is considered rude. In those charged, emotional situations where there is a lot of money at stake (or at least a player's entire stack at the table is in the middle), and people are saying things that can be misinterpreted as rude (the overall subject of this thread), something that will inflame tempers even more is when the winner s l o w l y reveals the winning hand. Can appear cocky and rude, and piss off the loser even more, and give him something else to holler about. |

Re: Would you be mad at this guy?
[ QUOTE ]
Youre offended when someone else is obnoxious but totally unabashed about your own snotty comment. [/ QUOTE ]That seems like an accurate summary. Let's review: He said "Oh. Pocket aces." meaning he suddenly "knew" what you had. He was wrong. You said "I know." because you're rude (and wrong). You lost a big pot. I like it when nice guys finish first. -Sam |
