you have a serious case of "monsters under the bed"-itis to be folding these. the only cure is to go to showdown and see. very sad here.

I don't like calling a raise from the SB w AQ here.

Are you advocating a 3-bet or a fold? If it's the latter, I want some of what you're smoking.

You will surely want to have some of what the authors of SSHE are smoking too. Their default recommendations on AQo from Small Blind are:

Tight Game: Raise unraised pot. Fold to a raise.
Loose Game: Raise unraised pot. Call one raise, fold to more.

(Insert Miller et al's disclaimer on pre-flop play, adjustments, training wheels, etc. here)

Nevertheless, these are the default recommendations by poker players and authors much better than I, so I think their opinion at least worth considering.

I think you laid both of these down way too early.

Hand 1: He could be raising that flop w/ a number of hands you are ahead of; I think you need to 3bet this. Lead the turn if he calls; check/call turn and river if he caps. I think you folded this too soon.

Hand 2: Check/call turn, call river. He could be making this move w/ AJs, ATs, even KJs. You seem to be putting him on AK, AA, or KK and there's not enough evidence for that.
