Another point that pertains to the general question of "should I quit my job to play poker" is that the poker market is already showing signs off buckling down. In the upcoming years I suspect people will be getting better at poker and that it will be harder to make a profit.

I understand that you aren't planning on doing this forever, but its just food for thought

just wait until october when the 2005 WSOP airs.

Start preparing yourself for your future full-time job. Look for a part-time job or internship that will give you some real-world business/management experience.

Poker will always be there. It's a lot more fun when you don't have to rely on it for income.

Don't quit your job. It adds structure to your life and gives you a chance to meet people. If you want to play poker until 4am and then go to work looking like a zombie and falling asleep at your desk, however,....welcome to the club.

hahaha

Yea that is true, half the people I don't know at work probably think I'm a zombie.

As far as the meeting new people factor goes, I should probably find a new job for the simple fact that the majority of girls are 16-17 where I work (A supermarket, ugh)

Thanks for all the responses so far guys.

NL/PL $50

Still micro I know, but it beats the hell out of part time work both pay and satisfaction wise.

sounds like this is a math problem to me

what is your bankroll? what is your winrate? convert your expenses into an hourly figure and subtract that from your winrate. using your bankroll, the adjusted winrate, and an unadjusted std dev, figure out your risk of ruin using this formula. if it's fairly insignificant (<1%), i think you should go for it.

Over the last two years, through work, I have been to Spain, England, Italy, Germany, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia and Cambodia. I may have missed a few. I travel a lot.
