I think if you want to maximize value post flop, your line is excellent. If you want to reduce variance, 3 bet the flop. {reflop i always 3 bet, but i am becoming more open to just calling in this situation so you have a stronger hand then you have telegraphed on these types of flops.

I don't get pf. I sure want that little white disk. [/ QUOTE ] Looks like it wasn't likely to be up for grabs. [ QUOTE ] button who plays every hand calls [/ QUOTE ] |

button who plays every hand calls [/ QUOTE ] Even jackasses will fold when it is 3 to them. Besides, isn't this just more incentive to 3-bet with a big hand? |

Even jackasses will fold when it is 3 to them. [/ QUOTE ] With 5 already in and the blinds yet to act, a jackass button who plays every hand probably sees little difference between calling 2 or 3 cold. [ QUOTE ] Besides, isn't this just more incentive to 3-bet with a big hand? [/ QUOTE ] Good point. I agree. The issue of value has a lot of merit there. |

Nice hand.
More important Q though is what do you do if the button raises you on the turn? (I probably muck, depending on read) |

"actually, I think the flop is the key street, and not raising the key decision...." could you explain why specifically? i think the idea of a call/3 bet is good and i almost did at the time... [/ QUOTE ] I thought about that line, but I like calling more by a fair amount. It gets the most money in the pot by the river IMO whether you are ahead or not. |

I'm curious why, if you were planning on betting the turn and river, you didn't 3-bet the flop.

A good question. He says he wanted to raise the turn, but once the button raised the flop behind him, it would be likely for the flop bettor (and everyone else) in front of him to check the turn.
