The problem I have with the river bet is that the only hands that can call you will probably beat you and you are also opening yourself up for a check raise if the caller was letting you bet his flush. I can't see that this bet is +ev. If he check raises you on the river do you fold or call? That will also be a factor in the ev of the bet.

if the limper was there on the river and it was checked to me id have more reason to bet, not less. -Barron [/ QUOTE ] i guess you're assuming you would have heard from him by now if he had a smallish PP? |

If I'm playing it, I'm 3 betting preflop. I'm not into CC'ing here. I hate coldcalling being the next to act after the raiser. It'd have likely cost the same amount to you through the flop.
I don't see many hands he'd call you with that you'd beat on the river. Doesn't mean I wouldn't bet the river, I just wouldn't like to be called. b |

[/ QUOTE ] im assuming only what i've seen him do all hand, limp, check and call, chek and call, and if he was still there on the river check and call...that in and of itself says to me he's going to the showdown and i will have him beat a lot of the time when he calls. im not assuming he has precisely a pocket pair but rather a range of hands that allow him to play the way he did given his play up to this point. -Barron |
