Re: How well did I play AQ off in small blind?
it's more the position and the style of the opponents than the number.
against a tight and solid player who opens for a raise UTG or in early position i will fold my AQo (undless i am the BB). against a very loose opener and 2 loose caller i will 3 bet it from the button. in the sb i won't 3-bet it against 3 or more opponents (if 2 of them are cold caller) unless the opposition is close to brain dead. but if say 4 player limp and the button raise it, i put in the reraise. i hope something of this was the answer to your question |

Re: How well did I play AQ off in small blind?
[ QUOTE ]
I lead the flop here planning to stop'n'go if raised. I don't want to force MP2 out since we are very likely way ahead of him on this flop. [/ QUOTE ] if you bet the flop and get called from MP1 and button fails to raise, MP1 would get proper odds to chase with a pair or a gutshot (including implied odds). i think in this case it is much better to get 2 bets by one opponent than 1 of each of the 2 opponents. |

Re: How well did I play AQ off in small blind?
[ QUOTE ]
I liked the way you playes it postflop. However I would definitely 3 bet PF if he's loose aggressive. If its a TA, I would just call because you already have a bet in, in any other position with AQ vs a TA raise, I muck. Loose PF raiser, I 3 bet, never just calling. [/ QUOTE ] Hi akvsaq, At 3/6 the value of the SB is virtually worthless, so it should have no bearing on your decision to play the hand or not. This is an extremely important concept to remember when playing 3/6. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Kailia |

Re: How well did I play AQ off in small blind?
Ok here was my line of thinking in the hand:
Preflop - one call in middle and a button raise. Usually with Ace Queen suited I would reraise but offsuit I usually call. I just want to see the flop. Flop - I have top pair and good kicker. I am not too worried about the original limper. I would like to get my bets in early here. I am 90% sure the button will bet if checked to. I decide to go for the check raise. When the button just calls the raise, I decide that I am ahead in the hand. If he reraises I slow down. Turn: Gotta lead out to follow through on the check raise on the flop. Doesn't look like it helped him. River: Ok 3 to a flush on the board. Now it had to go runner runner to get there so I take away some of the chance that the button stayed in with a backdoor flush draw. I decide to value bet. His raise is telling me that he hit the flush. I don't have enough hands against him to tell me he's bluffing. I'm getting 10-1 on the call so I do it reluctantly. Opponent showed K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the nut flush. |
