A few years back (ok, fine, early 90s) a coworker told me some Unix company tried to name a certification Certified Unix Network Technician.

I found this hilarious, but I dunno if it's true or not.

This reminds me of something simultaneously funny and embarassing. My undergrad school decided to build a new building for general computing/library/research/tutoring kinds of stuff. I don't remember exactly what it was called, but it acronymed to CLIT and they were serious about it. They put this in publications and stuck with it for a couple years. Then, someone wised up and they renamed it... to the CiLIT. Brilliant. I'm not sure if they're still going with that name or not, but I think they are.

Needless to say, I suggest something similar here, maybe

Corporate Longterm Investment Tracker
or
Corporate Longterm Investment Tracking System

edit: I see Jake is on the ball today as well. It must be good if we both came up with it independently.

Update:

I proposed these five options:

CITRS (pronounced citrus) - Corporate Investment TRacking System
CLIT - Corporate Longterm Investment Tracker
GANJA - Globe Asset Network - JAmaica
ROI - Report & Oversight of Investments
BLING - Business Longterm Investment Needs & Goals
DIRT - Dynamic Investment Reporting & Tracking

So far, GANJA is leading the votes by a two to one margin.

You guys are too funny for words. Thanks for the ideas. Final results will follow.

ROI - Report & Oversight of Investments

FWIW (in the unlikely event that this one wins) ROI is actually a common acronym meaning Return on Investment.
