Without a read I play it the same and if he had lead out the flop I would just call/call/call.

call me weak tight, but i'm dumping on the turn.

I'm happy to see that someone here has read my book.

Fit or folding,

I just wanted to go on record and say that this is, by far, the lamest gimmick account I've seen.

Carry on.

Note to jason_t, this "KK or QQ when Ace flops with no read" type hand should be added to the FAQ like WA/WB because it comes up every week.

[/ QUOTE ]

OT, but where can I find this FAQ?

TIA,

i would 3 bet the flop then fold to a bet or bet to a check on the turn with the plan to check through the river. i don't like checking through the turn if you are going to call the river bet anyway.

i think folding to the flop c/r is the only other way to play it. I think it's close. without a read I'm tempted to take your line. Against a TAG I think this is an easy fold.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would expect a good thinking TAG to do this with any hand except an A.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't, unless there's a history that we're not privy to.

While your idea has merit, I think it is a very bad idea in this circumstance. With Villain raising pre-flop, and then check-raising on the flop, there is a very good chance he has an Ace.

Because you raised pre-flop, he has to assume you have a pretty good hand. Because of this, it is unlikely that he is expecting you to fold on his check raise. Thus, he is likely betting for value and probably has you beat.

I wouldn't throw any more bets at this guy than necessary. I would fold on the flop, or if I felt the need to see it out, I would check/call the rest of the way expecting to lose.

The last thing I do is play this as Hero did. I'm either folding to the flop raise or the majority of the time(60% or more) I'm three betting the flop. I then fold to a flop cap or a turn lead. I'm taking the free card on the turn if I'm successful. I should mention that I will often take it down on the flop as the Villian is bluffing the Ace a decent percentage of the time. If I do make it to the river UI I admit I still call this river the majority of the time.

I feel taking this line I save a good amount of bets in the longrun (between folding to further flop or turn aggression or the 1 SB I save when I check through the turn call the river). Or when I am folding I don't need to second guess myself after the fact........as much

I play it like Carmine.

You get to showdown cheaper.

I like your line much better carmine. It just seems like going into call-down mode with KK against an aggressive Ace is a recipe for disaster. If you played every KK vs this flop and action the same way I'd say you lose at showdown well over 65% of the time.

Three-betting the flop eliminates the chance you'll fold to a probe-raise, and lets you see far more clearly where you stand in this hand.
