I think the scene was clearly about establishing authority. Like when a child does something fairly benign, however it is in clear disrespect to the wishes of the child's parents; the parents need to establish who is in control, and must punish the child adequately.

The woman was being straight up disrespectful. What she needed was a good tasing. And more cowbell, of course.

the woman is talking on the phone and tells the officer to hold up so she can finish her conversation. ok, wtf? the officer then tells here to get out of the car 3 times, then tells her im going to tase you, then 3 times he says im going to tell you one more time... this woman is completely to blame.

[/ QUOTE ]

That doesn't justify tasering her. Don't be a fascist.

Tasers and dash mount video cams are 2 of the best things to happen in law enforcement. She deserved it, she was screaming for most of the time just for dramatics.

It did sound like a bad porn half way through.

I just watched it. It's disgusting.

And it only reinforced my view that most cops are total pigs. They earned that name for a reason.

I'm not saying she was not in the wrong. She should have been arrested. But tasering a woman who by no stretch of the imagination is a threat to the officer is ridiculous.

yeah, they should have waited for here to finish up her conversation, and taken care of the stop when she was ready. what should they have done that doesnt involve force?

Obviously force was necessary.

I think they should have handcuffed her and pulled her out of the car. But tasing is ridiculous. It is not 100% safe, and if it had caused her heart damage then these pigs would be looking at serious charges.

This lady should sue them. She won't win, but she should.

And piggy #1 is lying about her throwing a blow at piggy #2.

Most people go into police training because they were the nerds beat up in high school, and this is their sick idea of revenge.

Edit: I just saw this video on Joe Scarborough that I taped last night. She is going to win a large civil suit.

The cop was giving her simple and clear instructions. She disobeyed, he tased her. He did not use unnecessary force, and wouldn't have needed to use any force if she had been cooperative.

BTW, if you don't believe all that porn-star moaning was not in any connected to the tasing, well, I have some beach front property in Omaha that I'd love to sell you at a huge discount.

Oh, and BTW, I'm a liberal. Doesn't mean I like bullsh!t.

Also, here she was being stopped by police without being told what the infraction was -- and was told to get out of the car or be tased. She's a black woman being confronted by white cops, and I'm not trying to play the race card here, but I can at least see why she said she didn't trust them and wanted to ask her friend on the phone (you can hear her end of the conversation) if what they were about to do was legal. She may have had the legal right to resist it (she didn't, but she didn't know that at the time), and therefore wanted to double check before submitting to the will of obviously trigger-happy white cops in a racially charged Florida town (I used to live in So. Florida and it's not harmonious -- the cops there are insanely bigoted).
