Holy hell I'm running bad

Dude, I'm there with ya. I've been battling back from my first few days at $5/10 6m, where I dropped 120BB. At one point today I was 3BB from being back to break even. Now, a few hours later, I dropped 70BB and am back down to -76BB for my 5/10 career.

I dropped about 80BB over 1K hands in my normal game (5/10). I played some live 10/20 tonight to de-tilt. Managed to drop 35BB, all I brought, in a game with the play comparable to Party 2/4. Near the end of my run, the bad players were berating me and my play. I wasn't playing my A game, but I still playing a solid game. I feel like [censored] because of the combination of the bad run and the bad comments. I didn't argue with them - there is no reason to - who cares what the dumb players think? Even though I know this, their comments still darkened my mood.

i was down 250bb 5k hands in to my 5/10 career. i then went on a 550 bb upswing (up the whole time - i won money every time i played.)

now after 15k of breakeven i'm hitting a pretty bad slide. i hate that game.

Your stats look good. A lot better than mine. You're a great player; you will do fine. Edit: Your playing stats... not your hand stats. Those obviously suck... you're running very bad.

I really started crushing the 2/4 6-max and 1/2 6-max games when I loosened up and got to like 25/17 with a fold BB of like 40 and att to steal like 35 or 36. I think those #'s are pretty ideal.

I just can't pull the trigger as much at 5/10... yet.

Same thing has happened to me. I was -60bb, then +60bb. Now I am -130bb over 5k hands.

definitely not. mentally, it's a lot easier to discount a few day long downswing as a bad run of cards, than a month long one. the longer ones definitely start eating away at your confidence.

i've been going through about a 3.5 week long downswing. who knows if its cards or bad play. my boyfriend (who is a definite winning player) and i have been over my hands, and he thinks that its bad cards, but i still have major doubts. anyhow, it's tough.

I ran awesome yesterday. Over 2k hands, my won at SD was 46%. My 2-pair went to SD 63 times. I won 44% of those. I LOST 11BB with 2-pair hands.

yes it does really suck. It's like nothing else. The only thing missing during a good downturn would be if Party sent a bus over to my house to run me over while I am walking my dogs.

What I do to feel better (and change the variance): play 6-handed and short-handed games (already mentioned and a good point), play Omaha 8/b (yes, you can do this drunk but be careful), play some stud, some razz and NL (never drunk).

What goes around comes around. Relax. It's just a game.
