The mailman who has the writer help him write poems for his girl? If so, good flick.

I liked I Stand Alone and Irreversible.

"Glory Daze" starring Ben Affleck

'Going All the Way' was good too but I'm not sure anyone saw it....I wouldn't say I 'loved' it though....

I swear at one point in time Ben Affleck was a good actor who picked interesting movies to act in.

Oh well....

there was a cheesy video game movie called, "the last starfighter" that i thought was on par with gone with the wind when i was 6 or 7 years old.

[/ QUOTE ]

this movie was also a favorite of mine while growing up. it was on HBO or Cimemax just a few days ago, so i wouldn't say its very obscure either.

This may not qualify, but I'll go with it since I still have never seen it in a US video store: The Commitments. It's about the formation of a Dublin soul band. It may be more popular in the UK and it is certainly known in music circles, but 9 out of 10 people I know have never seen it.

Yes very well known here, there is a commitments 2 as well I think, the people in the movie also did tours and brought out a couple of albums.

Top Secret havent heard of another good british movie that might not be know in the US is Trainspotting was the film that started to break Ewan Mccregor before george lucas untrained him how to act.

SLC Punk!
Night on Earth
Waking Life
Slacker
Eraserhead

Not sure if these are really considered obscure but they're not big hollywood movies.

an italian film that was actually critically acclaimed (maybe that disqualifies it), but didn't do well at all box office wise. i've rarely found others who have seen it, but it's amazing.

[/ QUOTE ]

This movie is good. I second the recommendation.
