I think 5 to 6BB/100 is a lofty but realistic goal for .5/1

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. High, but not unattainable for a good player.

I believe it is on the high end of sustainable, under the following conditions:

* Single table only

[/ QUOTE ]
I bet some guys here could win 8+ BB/100 if they played 1 table and REALLY put their mind to it. So boring though.

[ QUOTE ]
* Running PT and GameTime+ (or similar)

[/ QUOTE ]
This is important, but moreso for multiple tables. If you're playing one table and relying on this, you're not really paying attention.

[ QUOTE ]
* "Data Mining" for fish when you aren't playing

[/ QUOTE ]
Overrated.

[ QUOTE ]
* Active table selection and table positioning

[/ QUOTE ]
There's so many good tables on Party. You really don't need to be active to find a good one.

[ QUOTE ]
* Playing mostly during "peak" hours (evenings, weekends)

[/ QUOTE ]
Key.

IT's something that's not really worth thinking about too much.

It's only 20K but it increased as time went on before I made the jump out of the friendly fish tank that is .5/1 party. I think it is sustainable unless the opponents get better.

Hey Tom,

At 27-30%VPIP filtered for full ring (9+) games, I would wager that you wouldn't be able to sustain over 3BB/100 over a 100k margin.

I think it's very possible that the best among us could maintain a 6BB/100 winrate at .5/1 over the long run (keep in mind, the prohibitive rake makes this very difficult), but honestly -- why bother?

Rob

I think you're underestimating how long the "long run" truly is.

I agree. I mean most posters here don't understand that it's actually very difficult to maintain 4BB/100 at .5/1 over the long run.

It's gone up a whole point in the last 10K hands since I've gotten more aggressive.

I realize 20K is a drop in the bucket but I'm sure we would see more posters beating the .5/1 games by this much if they bothered to stick around this level indefinitely. The ones doing it move up long before their stats become reliable.

Yes I suppose if Party skins went under or they added smaller limits for the newbies, or there was a mandatory 15% vpip rule, or if they all had to pass a poker skills test before playing... then these types of win rates would not be sustainable.
