Majority of pokerplayers don't jam $580 into a $50 pot with just KQo.

if this was online, i think you should consider the possibility that villain mistyped his bet ammount. not sure how likely this is, but it would cross my mind if i saw something like that. i would probably fold (but then again, i am a nut-peddling little girl). hero is probably ahead at least 50% of the time, as i just don't see that many players willing to make massive overbets (if intentional) with very strong hands. this call is pretty read-dependant.

Beware the massive overbet against an unknown, it's designed by "fish" for an "all or nothing" payday. I found out the hard way they more often than not have the goods.

My "massive overbet" post

Paired board and not really a misclick, IMO. It looks like 7 or QQ. Since you have AQ, I'm leaning heavily towards A7 or 7x. Of course AA and KK are not out of the question either.

No read = easy fold.

that call is insane unless villain is insane and you know he's insane.

Hi psu,

[ QUOTE ]
What a terrible call. Hero's in the hand for $12 and can't figure out a better spot to get villain to commit his entire stack?

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe it was a bad call, not necessarily terrible depending on what brand of idiot we're dealing with, here. But being in the pot for $12 has nothing whatsoever to do with Hero's decision. This is basic stuff.

[ QUOTE ]
Even if Hero's best, there's solid chances villain has overcards and can catch up.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is scared thinking that makes no sense. Hero has AQ; that leaves one overcard that hurts him. Solid chances he has "overcards"(AK)? Possibly. Solid chance he can catch up if he has AK? Nope.

I met up with villian earlier tonight and brought up this hand. He was bragging and talking [censored] to me, but he also said he was drunk when this play went down.

I stand by my call and would do it again UNDER THE SAME CIRCUSTANCES because it would be +EV.
