The rational between the bet fold line is that they are going to value bet any club if you check anyways, while checking behind many hands they would have called a bet with. Also, most players won't raise less than say a jack flush at lowest, and many only A or K flushes, so you can safely fold to a raise. i'm betting that river and folding to a raise, that is why it's called the clarkmeister theorem, cuz it's amazing |

I hope you made a note of his flop check. It's a very serious mistake on his part and one that you can take advantage of in the future.
Also, I should have noted that you should reraise pre flop. |
