Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I used EV in conversations before playing poker. Sadly.
"Yeah, that's a bad beat" and "drawing dead" are common for me now. |

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I talk about expected value all the time, but that's an actual term you can apply to real life.
The only term I used mostly, is "all-in". Commonly used when I play magic and when I basically have to sacrifice my board in order to win the game that can be easily disrupted. |

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
As a psychologist, I sometimes use the expression throwing good money after bad when dealing with someone who remains with a loser partner due to "all of the time I've invested in him/her."
In addition, when this same person talks about wanting to remain with this loser because they believe that this person will chage, I talk about the problems when drawing thin or nearly dead. |

[ QUOTE ]
When he tries to convince me green shells in Super Mario Kart are rigged to hit players more often I began shouting ONLINE POKER IS RIGGED as well. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't played MK64, but I am positive they are rigged in Double Dash. The best way to hit someone with a green shell is not straight on, but to bank it off a wall, because the trajectory of the shell after the bounce changes to be more likely to hit a close-by kart. |

I would use hands to describe women; i.e, she's a AKs or she's a KJo or ooo man, she's a 72o

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
Has anyone ever read Bluff magazine? That thing is the worse. They use "the nuts", "pocket rockets", and "All-in" as much as possible.

Re: Do you ever use poker terminology in reference to other things?
I described to a friend a girl I picked up late one night as 10,Jack offsuit - about the lowest I would go in very late position.
