I started to post to this thread, but I don't think I have anything to add to Rick's thoughts on this. Well he touched on it, but I will add a comment abotu chained must move. The action players will often leave becasue they don't want to keep moving. Better players may also leave because each game you are moved to is worse than the one you just left. I am in favor of a must move until the new game becomes "solid" (full with a live list).

chained must moves blow. having one must move all night, even with a list, is somewhat reasonable, but a pain for those of us who like to play short, as the main game always stays full (i know, i know, most people like a full game...)

[ QUOTE ]
I've read that they give the person longest on the table the option to move, then move down the 'seniority' list; if no one volunteers, then they move up the list forcing people to move or leave. It sounds like a good idea, but seems like a lot of work for the floor, I imagine it doesn't work out so well in practice.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is more work for the floor but there are shortcuts. Floor locks up the main game game seat for the must move player to come, goes to the main table between hands and ask if anyone wants to move (be assertive here), if no answer (or no board) take from the board or bottom of must move. If more than one take from the top of the list.

I thought the must move was to help avoid collusion in certain games, but I guess me no know too much.

If you would give me the option of staying at a must move table, I would never move. The weakest players are at the must move table and they often bust out before it is time to move. Therefore if you are in the main game, only strong players (or fish that are running good) will arrive at your table.

Giving someone the option to stay at a must move, allows them to prey on the fish but never move up to face the sharks.
