I cannot believe how seriously some of you take this stuff...a HUGE part of poker is interpersonal interaction.....I feel so bad for you if you do get lucky enough to make one of these final tables and have to face a talkative guy like Men Nguyen.

PP's stunt was in good fun, with a guy he seems to know. BFD!

If I were Lee, I'd have punched PP right in the face. COMLETELY BUSH PAUL!

Best graphic I've seen in a long time.

These posts always make me wonder the same thing:

Do any of you guys have any immediate plans to have those sticks surgically removed from your backsides?

actually read about this on his blog. He had the book in the audience and one of the WPT crew told him to go up there. He said he wasn't thinking about the cameras or he wouldn't have done it. Lee Watkinson is a friend of his, and actually apologized to him later for not going along with the joke, because that is what it was...a joke. Bad timing though....there was a lot of money at stake, but Lee was quoted as saying it didn't bother him or affect his play at all...so fair enough i guess.

I think the only opinion that matters is that of Lee Watkinson. I don't know how he feels about it, but if he doesn't care, why should anybody else?

It was cheesy and his timing was horrible, Lee was still trying to count out all the chips he lost. But compared to others antics, this was nothing - LET IT GO.

The WPT encourages this sort of thing. Like letting Phil "The Unabomber" Laak practically crawl onto the dealer's lap begging for a card. I wouldn't object if one of the dealers kicked him in the teeth.

It looks like Paul got conned into doing the book stunt, but there is no evidence it bothered Watkinson. If Paul didn't know Lee, I doubt he would have done it. Anyway no harm no foul.

I have nothing against Phil Laak (also an accomplished backgammon player), but suppose you were a family member of one of the Unabomber's victims? Would you find his schtick that amusing?

Frank

I think Paul knows me well enough to know that this little joke wouldn't bother me. In fact after the tournament some of my buddies told me that they were very angry and had cussed him out, I had to ask "what for" as I had no idea what they were talking about.
Paul is one of the wittiest, most fun guys I have ever played with and I, like Doyle, was sorry to see him bubble out before the final table.

I think that this should be the last word and close the thread. If Lee is cool with it, then anything we say is just dumb.
