That rule needs to be changed. It forces you to make a 6 card hand, while Texas Holdem basic rules state that ALL HANDS must be 5 cards, no more no less. Anyways, nice hand. Did you get any bonus for getting a Royal? [/ QUOTE ] Hero has AcKc, villain has 9c8c, board comes QcJcTcAdAh, how is either person forced into using 6 card hands? The kind of 'bad beat' OP had is like 20 times more common, so if the BBJ on Party triggered on that it wouldn't get past 10,000. |

[/ QUOTE ] As other posters have said, this is silly. A hand that would qualify would be something like this: Player A: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Player B: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Board: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Player A's hand would be: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Player B's hand would be: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 cards each. Yes....raising pre-flop should be pretty obvious. Just completing with this in the SB really stinks. [/ QUOTE ] Funny really... from the moment I hit the 'Ok, submit' button I felt a strange tingle in my balls and just knew they would get broken for not raising pre-flop. No, I'm not a Jones/Cloutier disciple...In fact I'm a devout Sklansky/Vorhaus aggressor. However, as you rightly point out that is not how I played this hand. Why is that?....Well, I'm trying to clear my required hands for Bonusfeb by Wednesday, as I will be too busy after that to dedicate enough time to it. As a result I find myself 6 tabling $2-4 and well....I just missed it, that's all....please let me stay at the zoo...I'll be more careful next time...promise! |

Re: Why wasn\'t I at a Bad Beat table? King high straight-flush loses!
When I get AK I just hit the auto-raise box.
I don't entirely disagree that it is essentially making you play a 6-card hand....especially if you have KQ vs QQ on board of KKKQQ. I think some casinos make you play the Q-kicker on the board instead of the Q-kicker in your hand. I'm not upset about this aspect of bad-beat hands though and think it's pretty stupid to get upset about it. Most casinos do it that way....and, frankly, they can do it any damn way they want. If they wanted to have a contest in which you win if you have TT or higher and NONE of your hole-cards play then that's up to them. And that would essentially be forcing you to play a 7-card hand eouldn't it?? but yes....if it makes you play both hole-cards in the regular bad-beat structure then you are essentially hoping not only for the other guy to have a hand that beats you but ALSO for that damned river card to not be higher than your kicker. Essentially...the both-hole-cards-must-play rule keeps the BBJ building higher and higher. If that rule didn't exist then it would get hit MUCH more frequently. Board of JJJJ2....I have a K...he has an A. Yippee!!!! Bad-beat!!! |
