save some cash, go with a powerful desktop and take the extra cash and invest in a second monitor. you will feel like a total dork if you take your laptop to your undergrad classes with you. that is, unless you have a wireless connection and can play poker.
you won't need a laptop in class until law school, where if you don't have one, you just aren't cool. but i still play poker during class...but i'm sooooooooo cool. |

Clayton, keep this in mind...sometimes your college will give you a free laptop.
I didn't even realize my college did this, but sure enough I got a grant for a free Thinkpad. So, if i were you I'd wait until the summer to buy one... just to make sure you're not getting any handouts. |

Well, that and I suddenly work 10-15 hours a week now at a job that doesn't require me to do anything. I used to do hw there, now I'll maximize my hourly rate. UGA won't give you a laptop Clayton, sorry. |

Go to college and forget about poker for awhile. It will always be there when you are done.

I disagree laptops are critical for undergraduate classes. If not for IM, internet, and the occasional S & G many classes would've been very hard to sit through.
However, I went to a laptop university, where everybody recieved an IBM thinkpad as part of tuition, so most students were doing the same thing I was. |

college is the best time in the world to play poker, period. insane ammounts of free time and probably the least resposibility you will have for the rest of your life. Just dont spend ALL your time playing and youll be fine
