they never float to the big bet games but there are all these asian chicks who play tight aggressive limit poker 40 or bigger, who seem to be in every casino in l.a. at the same time. some of them are really cute and are surely being staked by some tool but they are winning players i would guess because they have alot of discipline. in my experience they are a pretty standoffish cold group, thus the discipline. The worst thing a floater can do to you is raise you on the turn, allowing someone else to 3 bet. Then after you think and think and think and make a tough fold, she mucks quickly for the extra bet.

I never quite understood the "floater" phenomenon until I saw it close up today. She definitely has "it."

Might impressive. Mighty, mighty impressive.

If you let them float, they will float. The point is to drown them. Don't let them control the game. Mike knows what I am talking about.

If Snakhead is correct and the player you are talking about is Nhu, she is really tough. Great description BTW. She has been a silent prop in the 40-80 at Hawiian Gardens for a while. I used to play quite a bit with her, and she is a real pain in the ass when she is holding two cards. I have seen her get off of her A game more then a few times if you get her nose opened up a little though.

I've seen them drift into pot limit games. If they book a win in their first couple of plays, you can see the look in their eyes that says: I understand how this works. They are usually broke a few days later. It seems as though their discipline, once cracked, leaves completely. Sometimes they just disappear, sometimes they reappear in limit games several months later.
