Update: The live experience
So I went to Aces casino in Spokane for my first live 4/8. It was a smaller, rather ghetto, type of casino. Only 1 table was running, but I was warned beforehand of the conditions. On the table was an extremely loud and friendly maniac who played and raised nearly every hand - only looking at 1/4 of them. Every so often the floorman came down and told "Bubba" to stop playing with his cards face up. Eventually, this got Bubba upset and he left; a horrible move on the floormans part, considering how much action he brought. The rest of the table consisted mostly of older people who played loose preflop, but tighter post flop.
I had never played a stake as high as 4/8, but found it to be as easy as the 50 cent game online. My very first hand I played were J's from early. After limping and 1 caller, Bubba raised (of course) and one caller behind. I made the mistake of not reraising. Flop was 10,4,2 rainbow. Unfortunately, A2 drew out on me.
One of the promos at the casino was "Aces never lose". I got the potential $100 aces, but they held up for a nice pot. Overall, I played about 6 hands and went to the river 3 times- winning twice. I ended the night down $8, but really didn't mind. I'll definetaly be back for more since I'm positive I will beat it.
