Great idea! I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions on ITH.

If I may make a suggestion, I think it would be logical to break the discussions down by sections in the book ending in the quizzes. For example, after the brief introductory chapter, we would discuss the Probability and Odds section, then the Bluffing section, then the Raising/Check-raising section, etc. I think each section (especially the quizzes) will generate plenty of discussion to warrant their own thread.

Am I correct in assuming that each area that we discuss will be organized under its own thread?

I missed the discussions on TOP. Couldn't find them doing a search of the site. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for doing this.

A few of the originals from TOP I was able to dig up:

Chapters 1-4

Chapters 5-7

Chapters 8-10

This was an unfinished project due greatly to the fact that it was done at too fast of a pace which caused many to fall behind and lose interest.

MEbenhoe, thanks for the links to the TOP discussions. I've started rereading TOP and following along with these discussions. Did the project dissolve after Chapter 12? Is it too late for me to post comments/questions?

why don't you read a good book rather than a mediocre one?

For the same reason that one may read an Algebra book before a Calculus book.

Don't worry, SSH is soon to follow, lead by MEbenhoe. FWIW, I've read a lot of books. Some of them not even about poker...

Just picked up ITH today.
Looking forward to the discussions.
I'm very new so I don't know if I can contribute but will probably have questions.
Thank you for taking this on.

I plan on contributing to this discussion as well. I just bought ITH today actually, as I kind of judged it early on as being a book I could do without. It seems as though enough people hold it in a decent regard though so I will give it a good read. I'm hoping this book will help me with my marginal hand play, an area I seem to lose EV in by being too aggressive in the wrong spots (over-applying SSH). Oh yea, Wisconsin represent or something

Some enterprising individual should type out all the quizzes without the answers into a master sheet we can print out for each chapter. Then we can go through and answer without accidently seeing the answers.

Nothing is more frustrating then going through the quizzes trying to cover the answer with your hand or a piece of paper then accidentally seeing the answer for the next question etc etc.

I wish books would list all the questions then right after the last question have all the answers for that section.

This is copyrighted material, so I think not. Funny, I prefer having the questions and answers together, as ITH does it - no fumbling back and forth to another page, accidentally seeing the answers to other questions. This was a problem for me with WLLH.
