It does not seem that you have read 7CSFAP. If you had then you would not be asking this question. Mediocre flushes are bad because they are more likely to end up as two pair than a flush. If you make two middling pair then you are not going to win the pot. Here, not only do you have this disadvantage but your flush is dead in both examples given. Fold twice, and go sin no more.

No I'm pretty well book learned. But sometimes I'm surprised by what some posters see as profitable situations, and just wanted to make sure. Don't worry, I usually folded these hands, and now will almost never play them, I wasn't fishing for an excuse to play them by any means.
