[ QUOTE ]
God can cure ADHD like He cures anything else. You just have to ask Him. [/ QUOTE ] you're missing the point... hid 'friend' already found god... he's even seen him and talked to him a few times... he just needs the opiates so that he can see god again... and so god can tell him how to play poker... Re: (hypothetical) Drug Whoring:
Not to cast any aspersions on your story, but genuine ADHD sufferers are paradoxically helped by stimulants, not depressants. Next excuse for pill-popping please...

Re: (hypothetical) Drug Whoring:
Actually, they are helped by both. Just to clear that up. Clonidine (an anti-hypertensive) has been used with great success for ADHD sufferers.
As an amateur pharmacologist, with plenty of hypothetical experience, I assure you I am correct. |

My bad - I should have been more precise
Centrally acting depressants - barbs, opiates etc - should not affect ADHD. Clonidine is a centrally acting stimulant with peripherally depressant actions. |

Re: (hypothetical) Drug Whoring:
Anecdotally, I have to disagree on both the bars and the opiates. Granted these weren't controlled studies with diacetyl morphia, but they certainly calmed folks down. And if I'm not mistaken, it is the "peripheral" aciton of Clonidine that makes useful?

Re: (hypothetical) Drug Whoring:
Especially since clonidine is symbiotically potentiating with most CNS depressents.
