One thing I try to keep aware of and often don't, and often see friends not acknowledging too, is that even fools and maniacs get good cards once in a while.
A little corollary -- when they do get good cards, they often play them surprisingly straightforwardly. Maybe the gamble goes out of them when they get good cards, and they start seriously thinking about winning, versus just thinking about playing. |
